Community Action Plan

Who We Are

The C Corporation Community serves as a resource to NYCPA members regarding C Corporation tax issues, including the following.

Basic C Corporation taxation (formation, operation, distributions)
Reorganizations/Acquisitions
Cross border transactions as they relate to C Corporations
Reporting/Compliance
Consolidated Returns

What We Do

The Community provides the following technical, educational, media and networking activities.

Technical Resource

The Community serves as body that stands ready to address technical questions from NYCPA members.
The Community monitors existing and proposed legislative and regulatory changes relating to C Corporation matters and shares its information with Community members and the greater NYCPA membership as appropriate.
Provides a forum for commenting on pending tax laws and regulations.

Education

Conducts seminars.

The Community conducts CPE seminars at various Community meetings during the year.
The Community makes presentations at FAE conferences.

Provides its members the opportunity to teach/lecture in a formal setting (i.e. CPE sessions) as well as an informal setting (i.e. Communitymeetings).
Provides an opportunity for its members to give and receive advice in a collegial environment inside and outside of Community meetings.

Media

The Community provides articles on timely C Corp topics through various NYSSCPA outlets such as "The Trusted Professional," "The Tax Stringer" and "The CPA Journal."
Provides its members the opportunity to contribute to publications such as the ones referenced above.

Networking - The Community provides opportunities to network with other professionals via community meetings as well as at educational conferences, and media activities. 

Who Should Join

All categories of NYCPA members who have either expertise in or who have a desire to increase their knowledge of C Corporation taxation.
