About the Stock Brokerage Committee

COMMITTEE ACTION PLAN

Who we are:

The Stock Brokerage Committee is to be a resource of NYSSCPA members regarding developing accounting, financial reporting regulatory and related issues for our industry.

What we do:

The Committee provides the following technical, educational and networking activities:

  • Addresses technical questions from NYSSCPA members
  • Provides a liaison between the NYSSCPA and governmental agencies or the FASB or other related organizations
  • Monitors new accounting rules or legislation related to our industry
  • Conducts educational conferences/technical sessions
  • Provides the opportunity to comment upon exposure drafts for new standards, pronouncements or similar documents, as well as implementation and interpretative guidance
  • Affords networking opportunities at committee meetings and conferences
  • Disseminates information through articles in the CPA Journal and The Trusted Professional and other media
  • Interacts with regulatory bodies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission and FINRA

Who should join:

All NYSSCPA members who have expertise in or who desire to increase their knowledge in the stock brokerage industry.
