Rosemarie Giovinazzo-Barnickel, CPA HeadshotRosemarie Giovinazzo-Barnickel has been a member of the NYSSCPA since 1988, and has maintained her active Staten Island Chapter involvement since then, serving as Chapter President in 1998–1999 and chairing various Chapter committees over the years, most recently Public Relations and One-On-One (educating high school students about the benefits of becoming a CPA).  She has also served as Society Vice President in 2007 – 2008, and has been a member of the Society’s Board of Directors from 2001–2004, 2007–2008, 2010–2013, and 2014–2017, serving three times on the Society’s Executive Committee.  She has chaired the Society’s Audit Committee and Member Benefits Committee, in addition to serving at various times on other Society committees, such as Finance, Nominating, Member Relations, Legislation and Awards.

After spending ten years at Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC), and four years as a university AVP & Controller, Rosemarie started her own audit practice and specializes in audits of not-for-profit organizations and Employee Benefit Plans.  She has followed in her late father’s footsteps, a former Society member and Chapter past president; her son Scott is also a CPA.
