Member Appreciation Spotlight Buffalo Chapter

Patricia Johnson, past Director as Chapter Representative on the NYSSCPA Board, and past Buffalo Chapter President and Treasurer — Continuously giving her all to the Buffalo Chapter, Pat has headed up the chapter’s Education Committee. Even more impressive though is her mentoring of up-and-coming members, encouraging them to participate and lead within the Buffalo Chapter. As well as continually supporting the board and the Buffalo Chapter members.

Christine Learman
, Treasurer of the Buffalo Chapter — Having actively served on the board of the Buffalo Chapter for many years as its Treasurer, Chris is always there to show newer chapter members or board members the ropes, taking them under her wing, while also encouraging them to forge their own path and be creative in shaping their own careers in the profession.

Kelly Mandell-Klumpp
, past Buffalo Chapter Secretary and past Buffalo Executive Board member – As the Co-Chair of the Buffalo Chapter Young CPAs/NextGen Committee, Kelly has helped to plan many of their events, inspiring members with her enthusiasm. Serving as Vice President this upcoming year for the Buffalo Chapter, Kelly shows tremendous strength within the chapter, and is always willing to make the chapter events and meetings her priority through it all.

Looking forward to my term as president

By Mindy Rose Elniski
Buffalo Chapter President

Welcome to a new year for the Buffalo Chapter of the NYSSCPA! I’m honored and excited to be serving as the president of the chapter this upcoming fiscal year. I’m a partner at LVBW LLP, and I began my career at the firm in 2010, after graduating from Canisius University with my MBAPA. I’ve spent my years at the firm focusing on client needs, and plan on placing that same focus on the chapter and member needs for my year as president. I’ve been a member of the Buffalo Chapter for many years, serving in various officer positions, as a committee member and as a volunteer. I want to thank Rich Brennan for his service as the president this past year, and for all of his past service to the chapter! I would also like to thank the following people for serving in the following leadership roles this upcoming year:

President-elect: Marc T. Mallare (Frazier & Deeter)
Vice President: Kelly M. Mandell-Klumpp (Brisbane Consulting Group, LLC)
Treasurer: Christine Learman (Christine A. Learman, CPA, PC)
Secretary: Lisa Mrkall (Tronconi Segarra & Associates)

The Buffalo Chapter has historically been an active chapter, with many annual meetings and events. Membership in the NYSSCPA and the Buffalo Chapter is open to anyone who wants to contribute to the success of the accounting profession. From high school or college students to seasoned professionals in public accounting, academia, and industry, all the way to retired professionals—all are welcomed and encouraged to join us to enhance the experiences that the NYSSCPA provides. One of the main benefits that I believe the NYSSCPA and our chapter provides is an opportunity to get involved and meet other professionals. We’re looking forward to continuing to provide our members with exciting events and opportunities, including planning for the chapter’s 100th anniversary coming up in February 2025!

It is my privilege and honor to serve as the Buffalo Chapter’s president this upcoming year. I look forward to seeing or meeting you at our upcoming events or meetings! If you would like to get involved in our chapter, please feel free to reach out to me at any time.

Thanks!
