The NYSSCPA was incorporated on Jan. 28, 1897, led by founding president Charles Waldo Haskins. The NYSSCPA currently operates the Foundation for Accounting Education (FAE), a 501(c)(3) affiliate that provides lifelong CPE to CPAs; The Moynihan Scholarship Fund (MSF), a 501(c)(3) affiliate that aims to support the education and development of high school students through the Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession (COAP) program by facilitating their exposure to accounting and business careers, provide college scholarships to accounting students in New York state, and increase diversity within the profession; and lastly, the CPA Political Action Committee (PAC), which aims to create political influence in Albany and with local governments.
